      Boceto de grupo escultórico en el que una mujer desnuda, sentada sobre un pilar, sostiene en sus brazos un niño. Sobre su pierna izquierda, cae un manto. Como tal boceto, el escultor no ha matizado los detalles, sino la forma global de la escultura, aunque sin perder una cierta fuerza expresiva que, unida al tema, da un sutil encanto a la pequeña estatuilla. Emparentada con La toilette y, por derivación, con el grupo Las Tres Edades de la Mujer que Inurria realizara en mármol rosa para el Casino de Madrid -cuya versión final en yeso patinado se conserva en este Museo-, esta pieza supone otro de sus primeros estudios para la parte del grupo que debía simbolizar la mujer plena en edad madura, conociéndose que, hacia 1919, Inurria pensaba que, por lógica, dicho motivo habría de representarlo mediante una maternidad.Finalmente decidió cambiarlo por la que llamó Flor de granado, título de mayores reminiscencias poéticas y literarias para una obra también de mayor sutilidad estética y simbólica. Sin embargo, el trabajo debió convencer ampliamente al maestro, ya que, de la pieza, realizó también una versión en bronce cuyo paradero se desconoce.
