A Life of Maritime Artistry
Born in Nantes, France, René Pinard was a painter and engraver who dedicated much of his career to the sea. Later, he was appointed as a Navy painter, a position he held for many years, which allowed him to travel aboard the cruiser-school Jeanne-d'Arc to Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia.
