William Allen Alsop was not a visual artist in the traditional sense of painting or sculpture, but rather a prominent British architect, educator, and artist whose medium was the built environment. To walk through one of his creations was to experience architecture as a sensory event, where structural innovation met a playful, almost whimsical aesthetic.
