Nicolas Becker was a Russian artist whose life spanned much of the twentieth century. Born in 1877 in the Soviet Union, he lived through a period of immense global change. In 1922, he sat with John Henry Michael Cole to produce a three-quarter-length portrait that would eventually find its place within the Florence Court collection.
