Born in 1915 in the vibrant, culturally rich atmosphere of Kolkata, Rahman was a man whose life and work served as a bridge between two worlds. Rahman’s architectural language was forged in the crucible of elite international education. After earning a degree in mechanical engineering from Calcutta University, he traveled to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he became the first Indian to complete a Master's in Architecture.
