Life and Artistic Career
Guido Hebert was a German painter born in Dresden. He studied painting at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts under Otto Gussmann. During his time at the academy, he was part of a revolutionary group of artists in Dresden that included figures such as Ludwig Godenschweg, Hans Grundig, Eugen Hoffmann, Wilhelm Lachnit, and Kurt Schütze. Hebert was a member of the Reich Chamber of Fine Arts and exhibited his work in various locations. His residence was listed in the Dresden address book at Sachsenplatz 2. In 1937, five of his paintings were confiscated and destroyed by the National Socialists as part of the "Degenerate Art" campaign. Following this, there are no further recorded exhibitions of his work.
