Mixed Reality Lab’s project is made to provide experience digital tangible cultural asset possessed by Asia Culture Institute through virtual reality. In particular, this work is meaningful in that it established a virtual reality platform with public interest by realizing the purpose of ACC. The work was created based on the idea that there are still limits in tactual space experience of feeling by body even though visual reality and degree of immersion of virtual reality increased with the development of HMD and computing technology. This exhibition provides user experience model by realizing ‘virtual reality space coordinating technology’ which offers tactual experience of cultural assets as well as visual experience.

Jubilee Mayanja: Bridging Tradition and Innovation Through Mixed Reality Art

Jubilee Mayanja, born in Kampala, Uganda, is an Interaction Designer/Creative Technologist currently based in Seoul, South Korea. Her artistic journey began with a deep immersion in Media Art, fueled by a fascination for exploring how technology can amplify human creativity and storytelling.

Early Influences & Artistic Roots

Mayanja’s formative years were marked by exposure to Ugandan culture and traditions—a heritage that profoundly shaped her worldview. Recognizing the power of visual narratives, she honed her skills in crafting compelling stories through various mediums, laying the groundwork for her later explorations into digital art forms.

Exploring Mixed Reality Development

Driven by a desire to push artistic boundaries, Jubilee embarked on intensive studies in Mixed Reality development. This discipline allowed her to synthesize traditional artistic sensibilities with cutting-edge technological advancements—a unique approach that distinguishes her work from conventional practices.

UX/UI Design & Product Innovation

Her expertise extends beyond visual art; Mayanja possesses a strong understanding of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design. She leverages these skills to create engaging digital products that resonate with audiences while simultaneously upholding artistic integrity. Her projects often prioritize accessibility and intuitive interaction, reflecting her commitment to fostering meaningful connections between technology and human emotion.
