In this tempera and gold panel from approximately 1420, the archangel Gabriel approaches the Virgin Mary within an architectural setting defined by precise geometric lines. The scene is structured around a blue building featuring an arched doorway and columns that recede into the background. On the left side of the panel, several figures are positioned near the edge of the frame, while other figures occupy the space toward the right.
