1807 - 1882, Austria
Known as the "Schustermaler", Johann Michael Neder was an Austrian painter born in Vienna. Before pursuing a career in art, he learned the craft of shoemaking from his father, a master shoemaker. His artistic talent led him to the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where he studied under Karl Gsellhofer.
