Hiroshige II realizó este grabado imitando los de su maestro Hiroshige I sobre el tema. Representa el acto primero de la obra de teatro Chushingura en la que se puede ver Kaoyo, la esposa de Hangan con un precioso kimono y un elaborado tocado, tratando de identificar un casco muy especial depositado en el lugar. También aparece Wakasanosuke vestido de rojo y el malvado Morono, de negro. Todos los grabados de esta serie están enmarcados por una orla en la que aparece el mon de la familia Asano. La colocación de una orla alrededor de la serie se convirtió en un recurso habitual en los grabados de ukiyos del siglo XIX, como una forma de unificar toda la serie, emulando los marcos que llevaban las pinturas occidentales.
