Weinold studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1982 to 1988 under Gerhard Berger and Manfred Hollmann, eventually becoming a master student of Berger. His early professional experience included internships at the Malersaal of the Augsburg City Theater and at an advertising agency in Freiburg. Beyond his work as a visual artist, he has contributed to the literary world by designing book covers for various publishers.
