His work included portraits of various personalities, such as Joseph Babinski, and notable compositions like A Clinical Lesson at the Salpêtrière, which depicts neurologist Jean Martin Charcot examining a patient with several students and collaborators present. He also produced illustrations for several literary works between 1883 and 1903.
