      A Life Between Continents

Siegfried Kaden was a German painter, graphic artist, and university teacher. Born in Dresden, Germany, his early years were shaped by the air raids on Dresden in 1945, which he survived as a toddler alongside his mother, Charlotte Kaden. Following his family's move to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1957, Kaden pursued an academic path that transitioned from economics at the University of Bochum to the fine arts. He studied art history at the University of Stuttgart and practiced painting, graphics, and art pedagogy at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart. His education further expanded at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, where he studied under Rudolf Hoflehner and Rudolf Hausner.

Kaden's professional journey led him through various locations, including Vienna, Pähl in Upper Bavaria, Heidelberg, and Palma de Mallorca, before he settled primarily in Munich. From 1995 to 2020, he lived and worked predominantly in Havana, Cuba. His career included roles as a teacher at the Free Art Academy Mannheim and as a guest professor at the ISA State Academy of Fine Arts in Havana. He also served as a professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts "San Alejandro" in Havana from 2000 to 2013.
